Hi, I’m Luka! I’m a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in computer science, and a software engineer at Pixion for the past year and a half, working mainly on AI research & development.
Most of R&D insights and results I have shared within several AI Blog Series blogposts, that have been recognised and promoted by and within the AI open-source community.
In this post read more about that one and other professional and personal highlights.
My main focus within the company has been research and development in the field of applied AI, and my key responsibilities include:
What I appreciate the most is an incredible level of flexibility in working hours, allowing me to balance my academic commitments with my professional responsibilities.
The company also strongly supports continuous learning, providing employees sufficient amount of time and resources for education and learning new technologies or mastering familiar ones.
My journey into software engineering started with a background in electrical engineering.
Back in the day when I was attending mobile robotics classes, I got interested in programming so I decided to switch from electrical engineering to computing.
At Pixion, I made another exciting transition—from web development to applied AI.
One of the highlights of my career was when my work in open-source AI was recognised by the broader community. Particularly, when the team at Ragas, the most popular RAG evaluation framework, featured my articles in their official documentation (Check it out here).
Other memorable moments include collaborating with the creators of Ragas, R2R, and Deepeval - sharing thoughts, ideas, and advices for improving open-source libraries and helping AI community.
When it comes to programming, there are three tools I can't imagine my workday without:
I find Rider especially intuitive because of its similarity to IntelliJ IDEA, which I’ve used extensively. It’s a well-rounded IDE that eliminates wasting time on configuring extensions, allowing me to focus on coding.
When AI development surged, Pixion didn't hesitate for a second and immediately recognised the importance of AI technologies and their impact on the industry.
This is the moment when I first step into this exciting area. At Pixion, I'm given ample opportunity to work and experiment with the latest AI technologies and pushing boundaries.
However, with great technologies comes the great responsibility, to build systems that are safe, unbiased, and equitable for all.
Gaming! I've been playing Clash of Clans for over 12 years now. It's my favourite game because I like strategy, teamwork in clan wars and leagues, as well as amazing graphics and iconic characters.
Programming began as a hobby for me during high school, and over time, it became an essential part of my career.
However, it never lost its appeal. I still approach it with the same curiosity and passion as I did back then. I consider myself a lifelong learner, always exploring new technologies and expanding my knowledge in my free time.
At Pixion, we believe in the power of technology and the people who drive it forward. My journey is just one example of how our team members grow, innovate, and contribute to the AI landscape.
